The Laser Class Association has approved the use of new boom and traveler blocks. LaserPerformance and Harken Yacht Equipment have been working together to produce the new upgrade and they are finally in production and available.

All the blocks have ball bearing sheaves for smooth operation. This design allows the sail to be eased out much more quickly in any wind conditions and should reduce capsizes and aid in light air mark roundings.

The single and single with becket boom blocks are similar in size to the existing Holt blocks and inlcude a stainless pin to reduce wear by the eyestrap on the boom.

The traveler block is a one piece upper and lower block system that will not come apart and does not need to be taped. There is a small amount of play between the two blocks to ensure optimal position through all points of sail.
