The Hobie 16 Upright Solo Righting System

The Upright installs easily. No holes to drill, no measurements are needed. Attaches in five minutes to the existing shroud adjusters with a pair of pliers. Racing rules allow carrying the Upright for emergencies, but it may not be used while racing. The Upright is designed for a single reason, to make sailing your small catamaran safer.

This system allows the sailor to extend the length of the upper shroud to bring the upper hull back to vertical before lifting the mast out of the water. This removes a significant amount of weight (the weight of the hull) from the force required to right the catamaran. It is critical that the shroud be repinned before continuing to sail. A great choice for those looking for a simple solution to be used only in emergencies.
