This anchor bar is used on varoious Hobie catamarans to attach fittings to the gunwhale. On the Hobie 14, 16, 17 and 18 it is used as the backing plate for the shroud attachment point. on the Hobie 17 it is also used as a backing plate to attach the crossbars to the hull.
