This larger rudder can replace the standard rudder found on the Hobie Mirage Outback after 2019, Compass, and Compass Duo. The larger rudder system only works with kayaks with the single rudder up control line (does not work with twist-n-stow rudders).
The larger rudder can increase control when using the Mirage sail or in large waves.
