The Hobie 17 Upright Solo Righting System

The Upright installs easily. No holes to drill, no measurements are needed. Attaches in five minutes to the existing shroud adjusters with a pair of pliers. This system allows the sailor to extend the length of the upper shroud to bring the upper hull back to vertical before lifting the mast out of the water. This removes a significant amount of weight (the weight of the hull) from the force required to right the catamaran. It is critical that the shroud be repinned before continuing to sail.
